Marshall x Hendrix Endorser Film w/ Zach Person
Marshall
The story
Marshall marked the anniversary of founder Jim Marshall's meeting with the iconic shredder Jimi Hendrix by releasing out-of-this-world designs inspired by Hendrix's love for space and the cosmos. This was the first endorser film that was released with the campaign's first drop.
The film supported the release of the specially-designed half stack amp best associated with Hendrix's electric on-stage performances. But there was more to this than just a redesigned product. This was an opportunity to tell the story of how two legends of the music world collided and created guitar sound history. As the Story Producer, I went to town on researching the Marshall and Hendrix story. I set the narrative and line of questioning. No interview conducting for this one, but I was able to consult with the interviewer beforehand to ensure we left no stone unturned.
The narrative here was about looking at where and how the legacy started. It was filmed at Washington Hall in Seattle. This is not only Hendrix's home city, but the venue itself is one of the few venues still standing where Hendrix played. Here, singer-songwriter and Hendrix fanatic, Zach Person gives us a deep dive of how Hendrix achieved his sound through his Marshall. It's a real education on the story of the legacy, but also gives a great insight into how Hendrix got the best of his Marshalls.
